Women's Golf Finishes First Round at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – The Washington State University women's golf team is tied with Oregon for 14th place (+18, 302) through one round at the Stanford Intercollegiate, Sunday, at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Cougars are competing in a talented field that features eight Pac-12 opponents, including No. 9 Stanford, who sits in first at 287 (+3). No. 12 UCLA and No. 21 Washington are tied for second at 289 (+5). No. 3 Georgia is in fourth with a score of 291 (+7).
Leading WSU is junior Cherokee Kim, who is in a 17-way tie for 25th at 74 (+3), eight strokes back of leader Marissa Chow (-5, 66) of Pepperdine.
Sophomore Alivia Brown and senior Rachel Lewis are tied for 42nd (+4, 75), one stroke back of Kim. The duo carded seven of the Cougars' 11 birdies.
Sophomore Bree Wanderscheid is tied for 75th (+7, 78) and senior Nani Yanagi is tied for 80th (+8, 79).
