KAILUA, Hawaii – The Washington State University women's golf team concluded its fall season at the Pac-12 Preview, Tuesday, with an eighth-place finish at the Nanea Golf Club. The Cougars carded a third-round 308 (+16), bringing their three-round total to 904 (+28) on the par-73 course.

Led by freshman Alivia Brown and senior Kristen Rue, the Cougars finished above nationally-ranked No. 36 Oregon (+36, 912) and No. 27 Colorado (+45, 921). All 11 Pac-12 schools that sponsor women's golf (Utah does not) and Hawaii made up the field. The WSU women finished two strokes back from No. 37 California (+14, 902).

“We finished the fall season with a solid showing this week,” Cougar Head Coach Kelli Kamimura said. “Everyone on the team is continuing to improve and grow and it's been an exciting fall season. We're looking forward to using the offseason to prepare for a great spring.”

Propelled by a strong first round, WSU's Alivia Brown finished 2-over (221) in the tournament, tying for 12th place. The finish is Brown's third-straight top-25 finish and fourth in five tournaments. Senior Kristen Rue finished four strokes back from Brown, tying for 21st (+6, 225).

Junior Rachel Lewis carded the best score of the day for the Cougars. Lewis shot 1-over (74), bringing her three-round total to 232 (+13). Lewis finished the tournament tied for 39th. Senior Lindsay Harmon provided a counting score for the Cougars in the final round, carding a 78 (+5). Harmon finished tied for 48th. Freshman Bree Wanderscheid finished the tournament in 57th place (+22, 241).

With the result, the Cougars conclude their fall season. The WSU women will enter winter break before returning to the tee box, Feb. 21-22, 2015, for the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz.
