Helm One Stroke Back of Lead at Rainbow Wahine Invitational

LIHU'E, Kua'i (October 20, 2025) – Washington State freshman Kaitlyn Helm sits one stroke back of the lead after Monday's opening round of the 29th Rainbow Wahine Invitational played at the Ocean Course at Hokuala.
 
The freshman from Phoenix, who tied for third at the Badger Invitational in September, is tied for third after posting an opening-round 68. Helm carded four birdies for a front-nine of 33 and added another birdie on the back nine to post a 68, one stroke back of a pair of co-leaders.
 
Sophomore Agnes Brink also opened the tournament with a round under par, using three birdies to card a one-under 71 and sit tied for No. 17. Freshman Anya Cedo tallied a pair of birdies in her first collegiate round, sophomore Grace Rubelsky matched Cedo with a round of two-over 74 and senior Hannah Harrison posted a 79.
 
As a team, WSU sits tied for fourth out of the 19 teams at one-under with Missouri out of the SEC and just three strokes back of third place Nevada. No. 25 Baylor leads the field at nine-under with Santa Clara one back at eight-under.
 
The Course and Tournament Format
The tournament is played at the Ocean Course at Hokuala.
 
The course plays as a par-72 at 6,039 yards.

Teams will play 18 holes Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday will have a 12:30 p.m. (PT) shotgun start before Wednesday's final round starting with a Noon (PT) shotgun start.
