BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Led by freshman Alivia Brown, the Washington State women's golf team finished play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, tying for 12th place. The Cougars tied for the fourth-best score of the day, shooting 291 (+3) in the 18-team field. WSU finished in a three-way tie for 12th place with Michigan and New Mexico State (+30, 894).
Washington State's Alivia Brown shot 2-under par (70) in the final round at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. Brown shot even with par for 13 straight holes, only to be interrupted by birdies on the fifth and ninth holes. Brown carded a three-round 220 (+4) and tied for 22nd. The finish is Brown's second-straight top-25 finish and third in four tournaments.
Fellow freshman Bree Wanderscheid finished two strokes back from Brown. Wanderscheid shot 1-over (73) in the final round to bring her three-round score to 222 (+6). The Goldendale, Wash., native finished tied for 30th. Senior Kristen Rue notched the second-best score of the day for the Cougars, carding three birdies to finish even with par (72). Rue finished the tournament tied for 41st.
Competing as an individual, junior Rachel Lewis shot 4-under (68) in the third round. The finish brought her three-round total to 219 (+3). Lewis tied for 15th in the tournament, her second top-15 finish of the season.
Senior Lindsay Harmon carded a three-round 229 (+13) and finished tied for 70th. Junior Nani Yanagi provided a counting score for the Cougars in the final round of action, shooting 4-over (76). Yanagi (+21, 237) finished tied for 89th.
