Kristen Rue & Marquess Wilson Named Student-Athletes of the Week
WSU CAREER
FRESHMAN (2011-12): Played in all 12 tournaments for the WSU women...scoring average on the season was 76.61...carded a career-best and team-leading score of 67 in the third round of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate...also scored 69 in the second round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational...led the team with six top-25 finishes...placed in the top-10 in three tournaments...placed tied for second in the Cougar Cup, her career-best finish.
HIGH SCHOOL
Earned four varsity letters in golf under coach Don Gustofson...FRESHMAN...part of the 2B State Champions in 2008...also won the individual 2B state title...SOPHOMORE...second consecutive 2B state team and individual champion...JUNIOR...varsity team captain...member of three-time 2B State Champions as a team...placed second in state as an individual...SENIOR...varsity team captain...team posted undefeated league record all four years of high school...first place districts as individual and team...four time 2B State Champion with team...three time 2B Individual State Champion...Pierce County Athlete of the Year...played in the USGA U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in August, 2011...tied for 2nd at the Washington State Women's Amateur Championship, two shots off the winner...earned two varsity letters in soccer...named to first team all league as a freshman and sophomore...sophomore year team advanced to district playoffs.
