WSU CAREER. JUNIOR (2002-03): Indoor - Battled sore back throughout year...best vault of season was 3.75m/12-3 1/2i at WSU Open (1/25/03, Pullman)...Outdoor - Top clearance of season was 3.80m/12-5 1/2 at Cougar Invite (4/26/03, Pullman)...no height at Pac-10 Championships.
SOPHOMORE (2001-02): Indoor - Top mark of season was 3.85m/12-7 1/2i at the Martin Invite (1/19/02, Cheney)...tied for 10th at MPSF Championships after clearing 3.75m/12-3 1/2i (2/23/02, Flagstaff)...Outdoor - Struggled with injury during the season...best height was 3.71m/12-2 for 12th place at the Pac-10 Championships (5/19/02, Pullman).
FRESHMAN (2000-01): Indoor - Finished sixth at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships (2/23/01, Flagstaff)...set freshman school record of 3.78m/12-4 3/4i was set at Moscow Last Chance (3/3/01)...Outdoor - Cleared 3.85m/12-7 1/2 at Cougar Invite (4/27/01, Pullman) for freshman school outdoor record...also NCAA PQ...finished 14th at Pac-10 Championships (5/20/01, Berkeley) with mark of 3.74m/12-3 1/4...won the Canadian Junior Championships with 3.75m/12-3 1/2 clearance (7/29/01, Calgary).
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Attended Kate Andrews...in 1998, placed second in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.60m/11-9 3/4 at the 1st Annual Canadian Vertical Jumps Summit...summer of 1999 Canadian Junior National Champion (Burnaby)...won the pole vault title at the Canada vs. Carribean dual meet in Caymon Islands at height of 3.50m/11-5 3/4...won the 2000 Canadian Junior Champion with a 3.55m/11-7 3/4 clearance (7/16/00, Montreal)...placed 7th at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Poland by leaping over bar set at 3.65m/11-11 3/4...personal best of 3.75m/12-3 1/2 at Alberta Juvenile Championships (7/30/00, Edmonton).
PERSONAL. Born 8/26/82...Karla Rae McGee...father Dave is a regional water manager...mother Deb...brothers Scott (8/4/85) and Russell (12/23/92)...sister Lisa (10/3/86)...named 1997 and 1999 Alberta Female Athlete of the Year...enjoys horseback riding...majoring in biology/pre-physical therapy.
