PULLMAN, Wash. - Joe Pistorese went six innings to earn the victory for Washington State in the opener of a three-game Pac-12 Conference baseball series with No. 25 Arizona.

The Cougars (18-13, 5-5) defeated the national champion Wildcats (21-12, 6-7) 9-5 after the game was suspended, Friday night with Washington State leading 7-4 after seven innings.
