PULLMAN, Wash. - Justin Jones fired a two-hit shutout and California downed Washington State 8-0 in Pac-12 Conference baseball, Sunday.
Jones (4-6) struck out six, walked one and hit two batters. He did not allow a runner past first base and retired the last-15 men he faced.
California (25-19, 9-12 Pac-12) gave Jones all the run support he needed by scoring twice in the top of the first against Washington State (23-20, 9-11 Pac-12) starter J.D. Leckenby (4-5).
The Golden Bears added run in the third off Leckenby and tacked on four in the seventh against the Cougar right-hander and a pair of relievers. California capped the scoring with a run in the eighth.

Washington State takes on Portland, Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Pasco for the Cougar Diamond Classic...Cougars travel to Bay Area for a three-game Pac-12 series at Stanford, Friday-Sunday with a nonconference tilt with California in Berkeley, Monday, May 14.
