FRESNO, Calif. - The 17th-ranked Fresno State Bulldogs defeated the visiting Washington State Cougars 16-1 in the second game of a nonconference baseball series.

The game was suspended Friday with Fresno State (13-2) batting in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was supposed to be completed Saturday, but by mutual agreement of the head coaches, it was called at the point of interruption.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning before Washington State (9-6) tied it in the third. Trace Tam Sing doubled with one out, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Brett Jacobs.

From there, it was all Fresno State as the Bulldogs scored six in the third, three in the fourth, one in the fifth and five in the sixth.

Bret DeRooy (1-1) gave up seven runs in two and one-third innings and suffered the loss.
