SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Senior captain Brandon Reddinger drove in four runs as Washington State handed Nevada a 10-7 loss Saturday at Dick Williams Field in the third game of the Oakland A's College Classic.

Bryce Chamberlin (1-0) pitched five innings for the Cougars (2-1), striking out five while allowing three hits and three runs, of which one was earned. Dane Renkert and Brandon Hundt also saw mound time for the Cougars with Hundt shutting out Nevada over the final 1.2 innings.

Nevada (3-3) starter Brandon Gottier (0-1) took the loss, working two innings while allowing six hits and six runs, all earned.

Reddinger, who collected three hits, drove home two runs with a single in the third and used doubles in the fifth and seventh to score two additional Cougar runs.

"Reddinger continues to hit well," WSU Head Coach Tim Mooney said. "He and Zach Franklin are handling our pitchers well."

"I like the way we executed on offense," Mooney added. "There isn't one person carrying us, we did a good job with the opportunities we had."

Joining Reddinger with a three-hit performance was shortstop Justin McClure. Kaeo Rubin, Justin Hart and Jay Miller each had two hits as the Cougars collected fifteen hits off four Nevada pitchers.

"Chamberlin pitched great through five innings," said Mooney of the junior who allowed just one earned run. "He had his usual good slider, but his maturity as a pitcher is starting to come around. Nevada is a very good offensive team and Chamberlin mixed up his pitches well."

The first three batters WSU sent to the plate in the first inning all collected hits and scored. Rubin and Hart had singles and Miller an RBI double as WSU took the early lead. WSU scored three more times in the third for a 6-0 advantage as Grant Richardson had an RBI single and Reddinger drove home his first two runs.

In the fourth, McClure doubled and later scored on Hart's sacrifice fly. After adding a pair of unearned runs in the fifth, WSU closed out it's scoring in the seventh with Reddinger's third hit, which scored Jason Freeman, who singled with two outs.

Brian Gazerro led the Wolfpack offensively with a pair of hits while driving home three runs. His run-scoring single in the fifth inning helped Nevada cut into WSU's nine run advantage and narrowed the gap to 9-2. His single in the eighth accounted for two more Nevada runs as the Wolfpack tallied three times to close out their scoring.

Mooney is expected to start freshman Wayne Daman, Jr., Sunday against Pacific at 12:30 p.m. MT in WSU's final game on the Oakland A's Classic.
