Shawn Deeds is the Associate Director of Athletics for Events and Facilities Operations and has held this position since June of 2013. His duties include day-to-day oversight and coordination for all athletic events, facility operations and postseason competition, as well as oversight and management of postseason competition for WSU’s sports programs.
 
Deeds grew up in Poulsbo, Wash., and was a highly-decorated three-sport (football, basketball, baseball) athlete at North Kitsap High School. He brought those athletic skills to WSU in 1991, where he earned two varsity letters on Mike Price's football teams as a quarterback. A shoulder injury his senior year ended his playing career but after graduating with a degree in Kinesiology in 1996, Deeds became an office assistant to Coach Price.
 
He was promoted to administrative assistant after one year on Price's staff and in 1998 he was named the Coordinator of Football Operations where he oversaw team travel arrangements, managed the Football program budget, coordinated recruiting weekends, coordinated future game scheduling and was Assistant Director of the Football Camp each summer.  In addition he was the football staff liaison to all areas within the Athletics Department as well as many outside agencies associated with the football program. Deeds held that position until December of 2011.
 
After his time as the Coordinator of Football Operations, Deeds was hired as Assistant Athletic Director for Facility Operations in 2012.  During that time his responsibilities were the daily oversight of the maintenance staff and all of the facilities that WSU athletics practices and competed in.
 
Deeds and his wife Amber, a fellow WSU graduate, have three children, Ty, Trevor and Turner.
