Brad Hutchins brings more than 20 years of collegiate athletics leadership to Washington State University, having joined Cougar Athletics in September 2025. He currently serves as Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Revenue Officer, where he leads the department’s external strategy and oversees the Cougar Athletic Fund, Athletic Communications, Creative Services, Marketing and Promotions, Licensing, NIL, Ticketing, and Equipment units. He also manages key partnerships with Aramark, Nike, and Playfly Sports.
Prior to Washington State, Hutchins spent six years at the University of Oregon as Director of Brand Activation. In that role, he led branding, licensing, and revenue initiatives while managing partnerships with Fanatics, Nike, Columbia Sportswear, and Disney, contributing to more than $2 million in increased revenue.
Hutchins previously dedicated more than 14 years to the University of New Mexico, including service as Deputy Director of Athletics for External Operations. There, he oversaw marketing, communications, ticketing, licensing, concessions, and multimedia rights, while also serving as sport supervisor for football, baseball, men’s golf, and men’s and women’s track and field and cross country. His leadership included major RFI/RFP processes that generated new revenue, reduced expenses, and secured significant gifts and sponsorship.
A native of Missouri, Hutchins earned his bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in sport administration from Canisius College. He and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Amira and Connor, and a Great Dane named Rose.
