Andreas Sloth joined the Washington State Women's Rowing program as Assistant Coach in August 2023.
He currently serves as Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach for the women’s rowing team, leading strategic recruiting efforts, integrating data-driven evaluation systems, and contributing to the holistic development of student-athletes both on and off the water.Â
Originally from Denmark, Sloth brings nearly a decade of coaching experience across junior, collegiate, and elite rowing programs. Prior to joining WSU, he served as Head Coach of the senior elite women’s team at the Danish Student Rowing Club in Copenhagen, where he guided multiple crews to national championships and international competition, including the U23 World Championships and European Championships. His athletes have also achieved success on the global stage, highlighted by podium finishes at events like the Head of the Charles Regatta, European Championships & Coastal World championshipsÂ
He brings a blend of technical precision with a strong emphasis on athlete well-being, team culture, and long-term development. His expertise spans training program design, performance data analysis, and recruiting strategy within NCAA frameworks. He has also played a key role in integrating sports science methodologies—such as lactate testing and performance tracking—into daily training environments.Â
Academically, Sloth holds advanced degrees in sport science and management from the University of Copenhagen and is completing a Master of Educational Psychology at Washington State University. This interdisciplinary background informs his approach to coaching, combining physiological performance with mental skills and learning theory.
