Earned eight varsity letter at Wilson High of Tacoma...three in football as a tackle/safety for coach Don Clegg...one letter in basketball as a center for coach Dave Alwert...four letters in track and field as a thrower for coach Sam Ring...football team advanced to state playoffs during junior and senior seasons...basketball team was 17-2 and played in state tournament senior year...during the spring track season named to All-Narrows League for shot put and discus as freshman and sophomore...as a senior, threw shot put PR of 56-6 3/4 and discus PR of 162-2 at West Central District meet...competed at state 3A Championships meets as junior and senior...finished third in both shot put and discus at state meets.
