Pelluer Named To Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team

SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State football student-athletes Peyton Pelluer was named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Academic Second Team, highlighting five Cougars who received all-academic honors, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.

Pelluer, a redshirt-sophomore, has tallied a team-leading 87 tackles (7.9 per game) this season, fifth-best in the Pac-12.  That includes 10 tackles-for-loss (T-9th), along with two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He recorded a career-high 14 tackles in WUS’s win over Wyoming and has two additional double-digit tackle games this season. The Sammamish, Wash. native owns a 3.57 grade point average while pursuing a degree in history.

The Cougars had four additional student-athletes earn All-Academic recognition as redshirt-senior offensive lineman Joe Dahl, redshirt-sophomore safety Isaac Dotson, redshirt-sophomore quarterback Luke Falk  and redshirt-junior center Sam Flor each garnered honorable mention accolades. Pelluer and Flor received their second career All-Academic honor while Dahl, Dotson and Falk were named for the first time. Washington State has had at least five players earn All-Academic accolades in each of head coach Mike Leach’s four seasons with the Cougars.

Dahl, a Spokane, Wash. native who holds a 3.13 GPA in marketing, appeared in WSU’s first eight games, anchoring the left side of the offensive line. Dotson has recorded 29 tackles this season, including one tackle-for-loss, while playing in six games. The resident of Bellevue, Wash. resident has a 3.10 GPA while majoring in marketing.

Falk, from Logan, Utah, carries a 3.24 GPA with an undeclared major. He leads the nation in passing yards and has set the WSU single-season record for touchdown passes with 36. Flor has appeared in nine games this season, starting the Colorado game. The Seattle native owns a 3.24 cumulative GPA while majoring in construction management.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team’s games.
