WSU Soccer Places Eight on Pac-12 All-Academic Teams

PULLMAN, Wash. – Susie White was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, and Sofia Anker-Kofoed was named to the second team, Tuesday, highlighting eight Cougars who earned classroom accolades.

A redshirt-junior defender, White owns a 3.85 GPA and is an elementary education major. The first team selection marks her third Pac-12 academic award. It is the second-consecutive year White has been selected for the first team, and is now the ninth-straight year the Cougars have placed a student-athlete on the first team, the longest active streak in the conference. White earned honorable mention in 2013.

Anker-Kofoed, a sophomore midfielder, earned the second team honor in her first year of eligibility for the award. She is an undeclared major and owns a 3.85 GPA. It is the first time since 2012 two or more Cougar student-athletes have earned spots on the first and second conference all-academic teams.

Redshirt-senior midfielder Beau Bremer, and fellow senior forwards Kourtney Geutlein and Cara Wegner, each received honorable mention selections, along with junior forward Kaitlyn Johnson, sophomore defender Jordan Branch, and redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Ella Dederick.

Bremer earned honorable mention for the third time in her Cougar career. She also garnered the accolade as a redshirt-junior and sophomore. Guetlein was selected honorable mention for a third-consecutive season, and Wegner was on the list for a second-straight year. Johnson has now been selected honorable mention in both of her years of eligibility for the award, and Branch and Dederick each took home the honor in their first seasons of eligibility.
