Priority Points Categories
The priority points system will be used to allocate tickets to the University's special athletic events such as postseason appearances and events such as the WSU vs. Notre Dame football game on Sept. 6. The priority points system will be used whenever it is estimated there will be a scarcity of tickets due to demand exceeding supply. For special events where demand is not as great, the priority points system will be used to allocate the location of seating. The priority points system utilizes the following fourteen criteria to determine an entity's investment in the University:
1. Unrestricted athletic scholarship giving during the most recently completed and the current fiscal year (July 1-June 30). This category allows entities to accumulate 2 points per dollar donated.
2. Cumulative donations to designated capital projects (the Indoor Practice Facility this year) (2 pts./dollar)
3. Outstanding pledges to designated capital projects already recorded (the Indoor Practice Facility this year) (1 pt./ dollar)
4. Other athletic giving during the most recently completed and current fiscal year (.5 pt./dollar)
5. Cumulative lifetime athletic giving (.5 pt./dollar)
6. Cumulative lifetime non-athletic giving (.1 pt./dollar)
7. University President's Associate status for the recently completed fiscal year, June 30, 2002 (1,000 pts.)
8. Reserved season tickets purchased for the specific sport in question, i.e., the 2002 football season (500 pts./season ticket purchased)
9. Number of years season tickets are purchased for the specific sport in question. (100 points/per each year of season tickets purchase)
10. Volunteer involvement for each University committee (500 pts./committee for each official committee membership or 1,000 pts./committee for each official executive level committee membership)
11. Number of years of giving to the Athletics department (100 pts./year)
12. Postseason tickets purchased for the specific sport in question (100 pts./ticket, beginning with fall 2001 sports). Starting with the 2001 Sun Bowl, records will be maintained to reward entities for each ticket purchased to a postseason event
13. Former student-athlete (100 pts.).
14. Current WSU staff/faculty status (100 pts.)
Introductory Offer
WSU Athletics has created a one-time opportunity to allow an entity the possibility to improve its ranking prior to the final points calculation deadline of Dec. 2. This opportunity will exist for the 2002-03 fiscal year only. From now until 5 p.m. on Dec. 2, an entity may choose to improve its points total through any of the applicable priority points categories.
Accumulation of priority points for future distribution of high demand, special event tickets will be based on the following, pre-existing deadlines:
- To receive 500 points for purchased season tickets, an entity must renew its sport specific season tickets by the following dates each year:
Baseball-March 1
Football-May 1
Volleyball-Aug. 1
Men's/Women's Basketball-Nov. 1
Failure to meet the above deadlines will result in the loss of current season ticket seating location, and no priority points will be earned for season tickets purchased.
- To receive priority points (2 pts./dollar) for any priority seating-required donation, an entity must remit its gift by May 1.
All priority seating-required donations received after May 1 will receive .5 pts./dollar toward your priority points total.
- To receive priority points for any of the other categories related to donations, an entity must remit its contribution by June 30.
No points will be earned for donations received after June 30.
