Seattle, Wash. – Sophomore Eric Swedin wins the Men's 1 Mile Run and sets a personal best in the 3000-meter race as the Cougs start the weekend with success at the UW Preview. The Cougs started the weekend in Seattle strong with eight personal bests and two heat winners. They will look to continue this success when they continue tomorrow at Dempsey Indoor.

In the Men's 3000-meter race, Kade Brownell set the best time of the day for the Cougs, finishing in 19th with a time of 8 minutes and 23.5 seconds. Grayson Wilcott won his heat and set a personal best with a time of 8 minutes and 25.81 seconds. Eric Swedin and Micaiah Aden also set personal bests in the race.

Taylor Sletner finished on the podium in the Women's 3000-meter race with a personal best time of 9 minutes and 48.73 seconds. Jaylyn Lehner and Lauren Hoyt both set personal best times, finishing in sixth and 19th, respectively.

In the Men's Mile, Eric Swedin had the fastest time of the day, setting a personal best with a time of 4 minutes and 17.32 seconds. Ricard Verges also set a personal best in the race with a time of 4:25.24, finishing in fifth.

The Cougs will continue at the UW Preview tomorrow, starting with the 60-meter hurdles at 9 am PT.
