PULLMAN, Wash. – (September 25, 2025) – Washington State volleyball started West Coast Conference play in dominant fashion Thursday night, sweeping San Francisco 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) inside Bohler Gym.

The Cougars (7-4, 1-0 WCC) relied on balance and timely execution, with six different players registering multiple kills. Camryn Lingenbrink and Eliana Ti'a led the attack, combining for 13 kills, while middle blocker Lucie Blažková provided a strong two-way presence with four kills, three aces, and a team-best six blocks.

Mary Healy chipped in five kills, three aces, and nine points overall to round out a deep offensive effort.

Washington State's serving game proved to be the difference, piling up 12 aces, including two apiece from Blažková, Healy, Italia Bernal, and Tinons Munar Galmés, keeping the Dons' passing under constant pressure.

Munar Galmés anchored the defense with 10 digs, while Bernal guided the offense with 12 assists.

Defensively, WSU recorded 10 total blocks and held San Francisco to just a .129 hitting percentage on the night.

Set one saw the Cougars seize control early behind a serving run from Healy, who delivered back-to-back aces to spark a 25-19 opening win.

The second frame was tightly contested with five ties, but WSU's composure late—highlighted by a service ace from Melina Christodoulou to close it out—secured the 25-22 edge.

In the final set, the Cougars again leaned on their serving firepower as Blažková capped the night with consecutive aces to seal the sweep, 25-22.

Camryn Lingenbrink matched a career-best with two solo blocks
Blažková had one solo block, giving her 51 for her career, one shy of entering the WSU all-time top-10 list.
With 12 service aces, WSU had double-digit aces as a team for the fourth time this season.
Their 10 team blocks marked the third time this season the Cougars have reached double-digit blocks.

The Cougars play one more in Bohler, hosting Santa Clara on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
