Wallack Brings Home First Team Honor as Five Cougs Named All-WCC

PULLMAN, Wash. (March 4, 2025) – Washington State women's basketball had five named All-Conference Tuesday morning, as announced by the WCC.

Tara Wallack headlined the group with an All-WCC First Team nod, while Eleonora Villa was named Second Team, Astera Tuhina was Honorable Mention, and Charlotte Abraham and Dayana Mendes were each named to the All-Freshman Team.

As the lone senior on the team, Wallack has been Wazzu's leader in what has been the best season of her career in all aspects - scoring at all levels, tight defense, being one of the top shot blockers in the nation, and as a vocal leader in the locker room.

This season, Wallack was second in the WCC in total blocks (58) and blocks per game (1.9), sixth in total rebounds (219), fourth in total minutes (1,035), eighth in rebounds per game (7.1), 11th in total points (409), and 12th in points per game (13.2).

Villa finished as the team's scoring leader, and as one of the top scorers in the WCC, ranking eighth in total points (417), seventh in field goal percentage (.445), and ninth in scoring average (13.9). She is also 11th in minutes played (990) and 11th in minutes per game (33.0).

Tuhina is Washington State's court general, effecting winning on and off the box score. In the WCC she ranked third in assist/turnover ratio (2.0), sixth in total assists (113) and in assists per game (3.6), 12th in total steals (40), 13th in steals per game (1.3) and 15th in both made threes (40) and threes per game (1.3).

Abraham plays with intensity and is an elite 3-point shooter, unafraid to take big shots, and tallied two WCC Freshman of the Week awards this season. Abraham has averaged 5.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.4 steals over 17.0 minutes per game while shooting 38.7 percent from the floor and 37.0 percent from deep, and has totaled 159 points, 78 rebounds, 18 assists and 10 steals.

Mendes can do a little bit of everything having tallied three double-doubles this season and two WCC Freshman of the Week awards. Mendes has averaged 7.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 blocks and 0.6 steals over 17.7 minutes per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the floor and 25.7 from deep.
