Slow Start Trips Cougs in Loss at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. (Hayden Wysup) – The Washington State men's basketball team lost to the Davidson Wildcats, 69-85, Friday night at the John M. Belk Arena. WSU's Emmanuel Ugbo led the Cougars for the second-consecutive game with 16 points and five rebounds despite WSU's low-scoring first half.
Player Performances – Emmanuel Ugbo led the team in scoring for a second-straight game with 16 points, adding five rebounds and his first Cougar block. Tomas Thrastarson had nine points and three rebounds. Eemeli Yalaho added eight points off the bench.
Inside the Stat Sheet - The Wildcats' offense held an advantage all game, leading from the opening basket. Davidson shot 57% from the field and 50% from three, while Wazzu shot 40% from the field and 28% from beyond the arc.
Uphill Battle – Wazzu dug themselves into a hole early, trailing from Davidson's opening field goal. The Wildcats got off to a hot start, beginning the game on a 27-8 run.
Up Next – Washington State return to Pullman to host St. Thomas (Minn.), Monday, November 10, at 6:30 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.
