Glass Breaks Freshman Scoring Record, Cougs Fall to ASU

LAHAINA, Hawaii – The Washington State men's basketball (3-4) lost to the Arizona State Sun Devils, 94-100, despite a record-setting performance from true freshman Ace Glass, who broke the WSU freshman record with 40 points.
Player Performances – True freshman Ace Glass scoring a career-high 40 points, becoming the only freshman and only underclassman in the country with a 40-point game this season. Glass shot an efficient 9-of-14 from the floor, including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc, and 16-of-18 at the free throw line. Junior Eemeli Yalaho added his fourth-consecutive game in double figures with 12 points. ND Okafor led the Cougs on the glass with six rebounds, while grabbing a career-high four steals, and matching his career high with three blocked shots.
Ace in the Hole – Glass' 40 points were three points shy of the Maui Invitational scoring record set by Adam Morrison back in 2005 with 43 points. Ace earned 16 points at the free throw line, the most made free throws by a Coug in a single game since Klay Thompson made 19 from the stripe in 2009. Glass delivered the 10th 40-point game in WSU men's basketball history and the most points by a Coug since Noah Williams scored 40 against Stanford in 2021.
