Cougar Relay Team Breaks School Record on Day 1 at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (November 20, 2024) – Washington State Women's Swimming tallied a pair of Top-10 times while the 200 free relay team broke the school record in day one of the Art Adamson Invitational hosted by No. 22 Texas A&M Wednesday.
After day one, WSU sits in third place, just three points by behind TCU with No. 22 Texas A&M leading the way.
In the morning prelims, freshman Darcy Revitt recorded a 22.45 in the 50 free, tying Coug legend Rugile Mileisyte for the second-fastest time in WSU history in the event.
In the evening session's first event, the 200 free relay team of Darcy Revitt, senior Emma Wright, sophomore Skylar Brgoch and sophomore Addyson Lewis set a school-record with a 1:30.10 and finished second along the way. Junior Dori Hathazi and freshman Tatum Janning followed finishing third and sixth, respectively in the 500 free.
In the 200 IM, school record holder junior Emily Lundgren just missed breaking her own record with a 1:58.82, .15 of a second off her record pace. Also in the 200 IM, sophomore Ariel Wang produced a WSU Top-10 time with a 2:00.63, improving her previous best of 2:01.47, also good for sixth-fastest in WSU history. Lundgren finished fourth in the event while Wang finished sixth among 24 swimmers. Following an impressive morning 50 free that saw her tie the second-fastest 50 free time in program history, Revitt placed third in the evening final.
The 400 medley relay team of junior Anna Rauchholz, Revitt, Lundgren and Wright posted a 3:36.69, good for second in the event while just missing the school record of 3:36.03. The team of freshman Wiktoria Palicka, freshman Ashlyn Hernandez, Hathazi and senior Angela Di Palo finished fifth.
The meet continues Thursday with the morning prelim session at 7:30 a.m. (PT) and evening finals set for 3:30 p.m. (PT). Both sessions will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
