Magda Jehlárová finished with six blocks to move into sixth in the NCAA rally-scoring era in career blocks (719).

STANFORD, Calif. — Iman Isanovic finished with six digs and a team-leading 18 kills while Pia Timmer added 12 kills and five digs, but No. 9 Washington State volleyball (18-6, 8-5 Pac-12) fell, 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23), on the road at No. 5 Stanford (19-3, 12-1 Pac-12) Friday night in Maples Pavilion. Magda Jehlárová finished with seven kills to go along with five block assists and one solo block, moving into sixth-place in the NCAA rally-scoring era with 719 for her career as she surpassed Erin Kirby (Wyoming, 2015) and Rainelle Jones (Maryland, 2022) in Friday's road loss at the Pac-12's conference leaders.

Washington State went the first 39 points of the match without a single attack error, finishing the opening set with a match-high .464 hitting percentage (15-2-28) as a team. Isanovic and Timmer combined for 11 kills with only a single error between the two outside hitters as the Cougs went on two 4-0 runs early in the first set to build a 16-9 advantage. Isanovic finished things off with her team-leading sixth kill of the opening set to give WSU the 25-21 first-set win.

Washington State had 12 blocks as a team for the match, including three in a second set that saw both teams hit over .300. Stanford jumped ahead with a 5-2 run to go up, 21-18, in the second set and later evened the match behind a 3-0 run to finish off the second set, 25-21.

WSU went on a late 3-1 run to get with a point at 21-20, but the Cardinal went on to win the ensuing four points to close out a 25-20 third set in favor of the home side. Washington State suffered a match-high eight attack errors in the fourth set as Stanford closed out the home win behind .308 hitting (17-5-39) as a team in the fourth set.

Coming off of a stretch of two top-ten matchups in three matches, Washington State will stay in the Bay Area as it gets set to play at Cal on Sunday beginning at noon on Pac-12 Insider from the Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, Calif.
