Cougs headed to L.A. for first matchups with Bruins and Trojans

No. 4 Washington State has gone 5-1 away from Bohler Gym so far this season.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Fourth-ranked Washington State volleyball (17-2, 7-1 Pac-12) gets set to head back on the road this weekend as it travels to the Galen Center in Los Angeles to take on USC (11-7, 5-3 Pac-12) on Friday night beginning at 7:04 p.m., on Pac-12 Insider.  The Cougars will stay in Southern California to take on the UCLA Bruins (10-8, 2-6 Pac-12) on Sunday afternoon beginning at noon on Pac-12 Plus.

>> WSU has two players in the top-10 all-time in career aces — Pia Timmer is tied for third all-time with 133 while Julia Norville is 10th with 144 — while Karly Basham is (85 at WSU) also close to cracking the top-10.

>> Washington State stayed at No. 4 in this week's AVCA Top-25 Coaches' Poll for a third-consecutive poll, the longest stretch inside the top-five in WSU volleyball history.
>> This week marks the 36th poll overall in which the Cougars have cracked the nation's top-10.
>> Washington State has appeared in 185 AVCA Top-25 polls­ — No. 20 all-time among Power Five schools — while finishing 13 seasons in the final top-25 poll — also ranked No. 20 all-time among Power Five schools.
>> Having appeared in the first-ever women's college volleyball media poll  at No. 6 last month, WSU stayed at No. 4 in Monday's fourth Volleyballmag.com Super 16 Poll of the season.
>> The Cougs came in at No. 6 in the first NCAA Women's Volleyball Committee Poll of the season which was announced Monday, Sept. 25.  The next NCAA women's volleyball committee poll will be released on Oct. 29 during a nationally televised matchup between USC and Oregon.
>> The Cougs dropped one place to No. 5 in the latest women's volleyball RPI release.

Washington State will be back in Bohler Gym next week as it wraps up the month of October with matches against Oregon and Oregon State, respectively.  The Cougs will see No. 8 Oregon on Fri., Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in Bohler Gym, before hosting Oregon State on Sunday, Oct. 29, beginning at 2 p.m.  Both of next week's matches in Bohler Gym will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Network.
