EUGENE, Ore. - Aislinn Overby made her NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships debut in the women's high jump, finishing 19th overall (1.77m) as the Washington State women's outdoor season came to a close Saturday on day four, the final day of outdoor nationals.
Overby missed on her first attempt at 1.72m before clearing the bar on her second jump of the day to join the full field of 24 jumpers in the second progression of the afternoon.
On a day with on-and-off rain showers at Hayward Field, the sky opened up as Overby took her first attempts at 1.77m. Following an extended meeting with Assistant Coach Doug Fraley, Overby cleared her third jump at 1.77m to move into the final 19.
The Cougars finished the week with two first-team All-Americans as Mitch Jacobson (men's high jump) and Valentina Barrios Bornacelli (women's javelin) collected top-eight finishes.
