SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State men's basketball heads back to the Bay Area to take part in the annual Pac-12 Media Day, Wednesday, Oct. 26. Representing the Cougars at the event will be junior TJ Bamba and sophomore Mouhamed Gueye alongside of fourth-year head coach Kyle Smith.
The annual event can be followed live throughout the day on the Pac-12 Network along with on the Cougars' and the conference's social media platforms. On social media, Pac-12 Media Day can be tracked using the hashtag #Pac12MBB. In addition, @WSUCougarMBB, @Pac12 and @Pac12Network will have updates on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook throughout the day.
Each team will take the main stage to answer questions from the media in attendance. There will be a media podium live stream Pac-12 Insider, the free, 24/7 streaming channel from Pac-12 Networks.
In addition to the media the Cougs, along with the other 11 Pac-12 teams, will be featured live in studio on the Pac-12 Network. Additionally, the Cougs will be one of the featured teams during ESPNU's one-hour coverage of Pac-12 Media Day in the 9-o'clock hour with Coach Smith joining the studio hosts.
Along with media day will come the preseason media poll, which will rank the teams from first-to-12th, as voted on by the media. The Cougars enter their fourth-year under Smith looking to take the leap into the upper-eschelon of the Pac-12. The Cougs return following a run to the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden for the first time since 2011. Mouhamed Gueye returns after picking up Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors a season ago.
