Magda Jehlarova Garners CoSIDA All-District VIII Honors

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State middle blocker Magda Jehlarova was named to the 2021 Academic All-District Second Team, selected by CoSIDA Thursday afternoon.

Jehlarova boasts a 3.78 grade point average while majoring in management. The junior from Prerov, Czech Republic. The junior is the first Cougar represented on the All-District VIII team since McKenna Woodford was a first-team selection in 2018.

This season, Jehlarova continues to be one of the premier players in collegiate volleyball. She leads the Pac-12 in blocks at 1.43 per set, which also ranks fourth nationally. She is fourth hitting percentage at .376, good for fourth in the Pac-12 and 40th nationally. She is the only Pac-12 player to rank in the top 5 in both of those categories. She has captured Player-12 Player of the Week honors three times this season, the most recent coming Nov. 8 after she posted a combined 16 blocks and hit .730 without an error in WSU's sweep of the Arizona schools.

The Cougars return to the court Sunday when they host Oregon State at Bohler Gym. First serve is set for Noon.
