COUGARS HOST USC, UCLA TO CLOSE OUT HOME SLATE
Washington State will close out its home schedule with a pair of matchups at Gibb Pool. The Cougars will host No. 8 USC Friday at 5 p.m. and No. 31 UCLA Saturday at 11 a.m.Â

The Cougars will close out the regular season at Utah Jan. 18 and at Boise State Feb. 1.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
Washington State will meet USC for the first time since 2017-18 and welcome the Trojans to Pullman for the first time since 2016-17. The Cougars are 0-7 all-time against USC. WSU will face UCLA for the first time since 2017-18 and will meet in Pullman for the first time since 2016-17. The Cougars are 1-11 all-time against Bruins after notching their first win in the series in October of 2016.
LAST TIME IN THE POOL
WSU jumped from their seventh-place finish from last year at the Houston Invite to a third place finish this year combining for 28 new Top 10 times.
Kate Laderoute was unstoppable she improved each day, notching a new top 10 every day. Laderoute ended the invite with six new top 10 times,
Taylor McCoy and
Lauren Burckel came in behind with five total top 10 times. The freshman made a statement at their first Houston Invite,
Mia Zahab earned four top 10 times and
Michee van Rooyen claimed two top 10 times. Many Cougars swam their career best including
Lauren Burckel in the 200 breast,
Ryan Falk in the 200 free, and
Chloe Larson in the 50 free.Â
THREE COUGS NOTCH OLYMPIC TRIAL TIMES
Mackenzie Duarte ended the U.S. Open earning an Olympic Trial Cut time in the 200 breast to send her to Omaha. Duarte joined Cougar teammates
Taylor McCoy (200 back) and
Lauren Burckel (200 breast, 100 breast) who also recorded Olympic Trial cut times this past summer. The 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trails are a scheduled for the 2020 summer, June 21-28 in Omaha, Neb.
