Cougar Tennis Signs Two to NLI’s for 2019-20

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Head Tennis Coach Lisa Hart has signed Carla Quadflieg and Yinglak Jittakoat to National Letters of Intent, it was announced Saturday.
 
Quadflieg and Jittakoat both will enroll at WSU for the start of the fall 2019 semester.
 
"We are thrilled to add Carla and Yinglak to our program and expect both to immediately contribute in our line-up," said Hart. "Their personalities and work ethic are exactly what we want in our players.  Coach Huynh and I expect both of them to make an easy transition and are so excited for them to get to campus."
 
Quadflieg, from Retinne, Belgium, is ranked among the top 40 in Belgium among all women after finishing 35th in 2018. She has represented Belgium at the Summer Cup twice and captured the Francophone U16 championship. Her highest career Universal Tennis Ranking (UTR) is 10.81.
 
Jittakoat, from Thailand, currently holds a 936 ITF world ranking in singles and 733 in doubles. Her career-highs are 903 and 706, respectively. Last November she reached the Round of 16 in a pair of $15k ITF events in Thailand, also reaching the doubles semifinal in one of those events. Her highest career UTR is 11.72.
 
The 2019 season saw Washington State reach the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2012 and finished the year ranked No. 36.
