PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Track and Field program earned a total of 21 qualified entries into the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary rounds, as was announced Thursday.

A total of six athletes qualified on the women's side which included
Zorana Grujic (3000-meter steeplechase),
Molly Scharmann, and
Katelyn Frost (pole vault),
Charisma Taylor (triple jump),
Chrisshnay Brown (shot put), and
Aoife Martin (hammer).

The WSU men recorded 15 overall entries with
Emmanuel Wells Jr. (100m / 200m),
Paul Ryan (1500m),
Kyler Little (3000m steeplechase),
Nick Johnson, and
Sam Brixey (110m hurdles),
Christapherson Grant (110m and 400m hurdles),
Peyton Fredrickson,
Mitch Jacobson, and
Keelan Halligan (high jump),
Jacob Englar (pole vault),
Brock Eager, and
Amani Brown (hammer), and finally the Cougars will send a 4x100m relay squad as well, which includesÂ
Emmanuel Wells Jr.,
Ja'Maun Charles,
Ethan Gardner,
Ray Littles, and
Jake Ulrich.

Sacramento State will serve as host to the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary Round, beginning Thursday, May 23 and will run through Saturday, May 25. The three days of competition will take place at Hornet Stadium and feature some of the nation's premier student-athletes. Qualifying individuals will then advance to the 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and will travel to Austin, Texas, which will be held, June 5-8.
Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earn berths into the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. The best 24 relay times will also advance to NCAA prelims. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams at both the East and West Preliminary Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas, June 5-8 There is no decathlon or heptathlon competition at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds. The top 24 decathlon and heptathlon marks in the nation earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship site.
