New Amenities to Greet Cougar Hoop Fans

| By:
PULLMAN, Wash. – As Washington State men's and women's basketball begin their 2019-20 schedule this week, fans attending games in Beasley Coliseum will notice some improved amenities, enhancing their experience.

"We are excited about the new gameday changes we are implementing this season," said WSU Senior Associate Athletic Director Chris Park. "An improved fan experience is extremely important to WSU Athletics and we will continue to make upgrades throughout the season to what has already been announced."

Most notably will be the court at Beasley Coliseum, which underwent a makeover recently with the new design in honor of the Evergreen State and the WSU System throughout the state. The new court will feature WSU's colors, with the court in gray and bordered by anthracite, and the iconic Cougar head logo showcased in crimson at midcourt. In addition, the landscape of the state of Washington decorates the court highlighting WSU Everett, WSU Vancouver, WSU Tri-Cities, WSU Spokane, WSU Global and WSU Pullman.

A new Kids Zone will be located outside of Section 33, featuring games and activities that will entertain young fans, specifically before the game and at halftime. There will also be a new kids meal option at concession stands throughout Beasley Coliseum.

Fans will also notice LED signage along the basket stanchions as well as seeing the band and spirit squads moved from the baseline to along the side of the court to enhance the gameday experience.

Cougars fans listening to men's basketball broadcasts this season will hear a familiar name as Cougar Hall of Famer Craig Ehlo joins play-by-play man Matt Chazanow on the broadcasts for all home conference games. Ehlo played two seasons at Washington State (1981-83) before embarking on a 14-year NBA career.

WSU Athletics anticipates adding additional amenities as the season progresses.

Single-game and season tickets are still on sale for both men's and women's basketball. Mini Plan ticket packages are also on sale for the WSU men's 2019-20 basketball season. The men's basketball mini plans include a 3- and 5-game option. You can choose any games, including the Klay Thompson jersey retirement against Oregon State on January 18.  The 3-game plan starts at $45 and the 5-game plan starts at just $70.  Seating is available in the sideline reserved, corner reserved, baseline floor, and lower baseline sections.
