WEEK PREVIEW
Washington State returns to the road this week as the Cougars will first travel to Boulder to take on the Buffaloes of Colorado, Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. PT. The Buffaloes hold a 10-7 all-time advantage over the Cougars, however Washington State has found recent success, sweeping CU a year ago, and winning the last four of five.
WSU will then travel to Salt Lake City to take on the Utes of Utah, Sunday, Oct. 27, with first serve set for 12:00 p.m. PT. Washington State leads the current all-time series over Utah at 15-11, with a season sweep of the Utes occurring a year ago as well.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The week eight American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coaches Poll sees Washington State fall to No. 24 in the nation after going 1-1 the previous week against Arizona and Arizona State. The Pac-12 overall currently has four teams ranked in the top 25 as Stanford (2), Washington (9), Utah (18), and the Cougars all represent the conference. The RichKern polls ranks WSU at No. 23 this week, and the Pablo Rankings places the Cougars at No. 22 as WSU prepares for a Pac-12 road trip to both Colorado and Utah this week.

Alexis Dirige currently sits at 1,947 total career digs in a Washington State University uniform, which is just eight away from becoming the all-time leader in the category for the Cougars. Dirige posted 22 digs in the five-set match against Arizona State, which brings her to the brink of becoming the record holder. Kate Sommer (2012-15) is the current all-time WSU record holder for career digs with 1,954.

Washington State volleyball was tripped up by the Sun Devils of Arizona State Sunday afternoon, as ASU defeated the Cougars 3-2 inside Bohler Gym. Set scores from the match were: 25-19, 25-17, 20-25, 22-25, and 12-15 in favor of ASU (11-8, 3-4 Pac-12). Freshman
Alexcis Lusby provided scoring for the Cougars both offensively and defensively in this five-set contest. Lusby totaled 11 total kills while hitting .286 on 28 total attacks, and posted eight block assists to help anchor WSU.
Pia Timmer led the Cougars with 14 kills on the day, along with hitting .303 overall on 33 attacks. Timmer added 14 digs to her stat sheet for her second double-double of the year.
