Men’s Golf Travels South for the Oregon State Invitational

THIS WEEK – Washington State Men's Golf Team heads down to Corvallis Ore. to compete in the Oregon State Invitational, Monday, October 14-15 at the Trysting Tree Golf Club hosted by Oregon State. The course will be played as par-71 at 7,297 yards.

THE FIELD – The 14-team tournament will include WSU, Arizona, Air Force, Boise State, California Baptist, CSU Fullerton, Gonzaga, Idaho, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, San Francisco, Seattle University, Utah, and Oregon State will also have a "B" team.

THE LINEUP – Representing the Cougars will be seniors Daniel Kolar and Nicklaus Chiam, freshmen Christian Yanagi, Clayton Thatcher, Yuya Eguchi. Freshman Tianyu Wu will be golfing as an individual.

COACH WHITE ON THE TOURNAMENT – "We have a quick turnaround before we head to Oregon State. Our guys need to be diligent in how they use their practice time and focus on areas for improvement from last week. We'll be thorough in our practice round in Corvallis and we feel like we can bounce back and compete hard this coming week. We're continuing to focus on ourselves and what we can control each time we play."

LAST TIME ON THE COURSE – Last week the Cougars traveled east to compete in the Health Plan Invitational Mountaineer Invitational. They were led by senior Nicklaus Chiam who carded a 70 (-2) in the first round of play. Chiam finished the tournament at 221 (+5) which tied for 14th. This was Chaim's first top 15 finish since 2017. The Cougars finished 12th at the event, carding a 921 (+57).

COACHES - Dustin White continues to lead the Cougars in his fourth season as the head coach, after spending four years on the Cougar golf team from 1999-2003. Kevin Tucker continues to assist White in his second year as an assistant coach after playing for the Cougars from 2006-10.
