THIS WEEK: The Washington State men's golf team heads to the other side of the Cascades to Sammamish Wash., to compete in its second tournament of the fall season, the Husky Invitational, Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 25-26 at Aldarra Golf Course in Sammamish, Wash.
THE TOURNAMENT: Aldarra Golf Course is a 6,911-yard track at par-71…located just minutes east of Seattle, Aldarra meanders through rolling terrain with views of nearby Mount Si and the Cascade mountain range...the first and second rounds will take place Tuesday, Sept. 25 with continuous rounds…the final 18 holes (third round) will take place Wednesday, Sept. 26.
THE FIELD: The 12-team field includes WSU and host-Washington as well as Boise State, Seattle U, Idaho, San Jose State, Nevada, Long Beach State, Hawaii and San Diego, along with delegations from Sweden and Taiwan.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: The Cougars (+12, 292) took 11th of the 17 teams competing at the Ram Masters Invitational, Sept. 17-18 at Fort Collins, Colo…senior
AJ Armstrong led the team, scoring 215 (+5) through three rounds and tying for 25th…junior
Nicklaus Chiam (+8, 218) tied for 38th, placing 16 spots above teammate sophomore
Ryan Maine (+11, 221) who tied for 54th…senior
Grant Cole (+15, 225) and junior
Daniel Kolar (+15, 225) both tied for 68th.
