THIS WEEK: Washington State tennis travels south to play No. 39 Arizona State, Friday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday matchup at Arizona at Noon. The Cougars, currently ranked No. 34, enter the week with a 19-2 record, 4-1 in Pac-12 play. The 19 wins match a program best, also achieved during the 1994 and 2012 seasons. Arizona State begins the week with a No. 39 ranking and an 11-5 record, 3-2 in conference play. Arizona, which hosts Washington Friday, brings a record of 9-10 into the week while looking for its first conference win at 0-5. The Cougars will be looking for their first win against the Arizona schools in the state of Arizona.

LAST WEEK: The Cougars improved to a program-best 19 victories following a pair of sweeps against Utah and Colorado. The week began with WSU defeating Utah, 4-0, following by an identical 4-0 victory over Colorado. The win improved the all-time record to 8-7 against Utah and 5-4 over Colorado.

WSU CONTINUES PRESENCE IN ITA TEAM RANKINGS: Washington State University moved to No. 31 in the most recent ITA team rankings, released Tuesday, after reaching a season-best 31 the previous week. The Cougars have been ranked in each of the last five ITA polls.

HART REACHES WIN NO. 200 LEADING COUGARS: With the win over Colorado last Sunday, WSU Head Coach
Lisa Hart recorded her 200th victory while leading Cougar Tennis. With five regular-season matches and the Pac-12 Conference tournament remaining, Hart has the Cougars in position to set a school record for wins with just one more victory.

BAYERLOVA RANKED 43 IN ITA NATIONAL SINGLES: Following the most recent ITA singles rankings, freshmen
Michaela Bayerlova came in at No. 43, up six spots from the previous ranking of 49. Bayerlova was No. 54 in the first of 2018 ITA National Singles rankings and rose to 34, her highest ITA ranking thus far.

BAYERLOVA NAMED PAC-12 WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: For the second time this season, WSU freshman
Michaela Bayerlova was named the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Feb. 27. Bayerlova earned her first Pac-12's Women's Tennis Player of the Week Jan. 23. This season, Bayerlova is 3-0 against nationally ranked players and has lost just one set all season in her 20 singles matches. Bayerlova is the sixth player at WSU under Head Coach

COACH HART:
Lisa Hart is entering her 15th season as the head coach at Washington State. Hart has accumulated 200 wins over her tenure, the most victories in school history. In 2012, the Cougars went 19-7 as Hart was awarded the Pac-12 Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year award.
