>> Washington State enters the weekend after posting a 1-1 week in Los Angeles with a four-set victory over No. 21 UCLA, and then falling to No. 13 USC in four sets also. This was the final regular season road trip for WSU, as the Cougars post a regular season away record of 9-5 overall.
>> WSU will look to defend Bohler Gym Friday, and Sunday this weekend as the Cougars host No. 2 Stanford, and California, both teams who took round one on the road against Washington State earlier this season.
Cougars Jump One Spot in AVCA Coaches Poll
WSU slides in at number 18 overall in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll in the week 12 rankings. Fellow Pac-12 members that earned top 25 spots as well include; No. 2 Stanford (16 first place votes), No. 14 USC, No. 16 Oregon, No. 18 Washington, No. 24 Arizona, No. 25 UCLA, and both Colorado, and Utah are each receiving votes outside the top-25.
WSU Checks in at 11 Overall in NCAA RPI Rankings
Washington State checks in at number 11 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings, with a 19-7 record, along with being 10-6 in the Pac-12 overall heading into a two-week home stretch inside Bohler Gym to finish off the regular season. The Cougars currently have an overall record of 8-5 when facing nationally ranked opponents, along with an impressive 8-1 record at home where they welcome both No. 2 Stanford, and California this weekend.
Martin Climbing up in Pac-12 Blocking Ranks

Claire Martin posted solid overall defensive numbers on the road against No. 21 UCLA, and No. 13 USC as she now sees herself ranked third overall in the Pac-12 in block assists with 108, and fourth overall in total blocks with 118 so far this season. Claire also ranks 63rd in the nation in total blocks as she looks to continue to increase her numbers this coming weekend.
Defend Bohler Gym
Washington State begins a two-week home stand against Pac-12 opponents starting this weekend against No. 2 Stanford, and California. The Cougars will continue to play at home the following week against Oregon State, Wednesday, November 21, and finish off the regular season against No. 20 and arch rival Washington in the Boeing Apple Cup Series, Friday, November 24 as well.
