WASHINGTON STATE COMPETES IN TWO RACES SATURDAY
>> The Washington State men's cross country team, and the women's cross country team will compete for the fourth time this year, as the Cougars will send out two teams to both the Inland Empire Championships in Lewiston, Idaho, and to the Pre-National Meet in Madison, Wisconsin.
>> The Thomas Zimmer Championship Course is the home of the NCAA Cross Country Championship this season, and will be a familiar course for the Cougs as they competed in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational two weeks prior.Â
>> The second race that the Cougars will be competing in, the Inland Empire Championships, will be ran at Lewis-Clark State College Orchards Course in Lewiston, Idaho.Â
COUGARS IN THE RANKINGSÂ
>> The Cougar men's cross country program checks in at No. 17 overall in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) week four poll, while checking in at the number six spot in the most recent west regional rankings. The Cougs are looking to build off their previous run in Madison this weekend at the Pre-National Meet, and at the Inland Championships.
>> The Cougar women's cross country program is currently ranked 14th overall in the latest west region ranking in the week four USTFCCCA polls, and will also look to continue to score points at the national level in the upcoming meet in Madison, Wisconsin, and Lewiston, Idaho.
LAST TIME OUT
>> The Cougars each ran in the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28..The WSU women placed in 31st overall as freshman
Emma Jenkins was the top runner with a time of 21:10.9 and placed 95th overall...For the men, the Cougs finished 11th as a team, with senior
Chandler Teigen placing 26th overall with a time of 23:49.9 in the race.Â

COUGARS TO HOST 2019 NCAA WEST REGION XC CHAMPIONSHIPS:
>> Washington State will host the 2019 NCAA Cross Country West Regional Friday, Nov. 15, at the Colfax Golf Club at Colfax, Wash...this will mark the first time WSU will host an NCAA Cross Country Regional Championship...Cougars hosted the 2015 Pac-12 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships at the Colfax Golf Club and practice on the course several times a week.
