NAPA, Calif. – The Washington State women's golf team tied for 13th place with Hawaii at the Silverado Showdown, Tuesday, at the Silverado Resort & Spa.
WSU shot 11-over par in the final round to bring its three-round total to 899 (+35). Three Pac-12 competitors finished in the top-three including No. 4 Stanford, which remained in first place throughout the entire tournament (-16, 848). Fifth-ranked UCLA finished nine strokes behind Stanford to take second (-7, 857) and host-school Colorado finished in third place (-4, 860).Â
In her fourth top-25 finish of the season, freshman Marie Lund-Hansen tied for 21st. Lund-Hansen shot 2-over on the day and finished with a three-round score of 218 (+2). The Denmark native finished 10 strokes back of co-champions Lilia Vu of UCLA and Hannah Kim of Northwestern (-8, 208).
Senior Cherokee Kim ended play with a score of 226 (+10) and tied for 57th place. Juniors Alivia Brown and Bree Wanderscheid each tied for 64th (+13, 229) after recording their best scores of the tournament in the final round. Brown shot 1-over on the day, while Wanderscheid shot 3-over par.Â
After carding five birdies in the third round, sophomore Madison Odiorne ended the tournament tied for 71st with a three-round total of 230 (+14).Â
Women's golf will conclude the 2016-17 season at Tucson, Ariz., Apr. 24-26, at the Pac-12 Championships at the Sewailo Golf Club.
