The WSU women's golf team is in 5th place after the first round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The team finished with a 289(+1), three strokes behind 4th place UTSA (286, -2). Two Cougars sit in the top 15 after shooting under par for the day.
Sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen scored a 70(-2) in the first round, sharing the score with three others tied for 7th. Redshirt freshman Emily Baumgart followed directly behind with a score of 71(-1) to tie for 11th. Baumgart marked one of the three total eagles of the day.
Junior Madison Odiorne is tied with 8 others for 29th after tallying a 73(+1) in the first round.
Denver and New Mexico are tied for first, both with a one round total of 283(-5). New Mexico's Ingrid Gutierrez leads the players with a 66(-6) total.
