LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Swimming stars from the Pac-12 Conference converged in Los Angeles Saturday night to compete against members of the USA Swimming National Team in the USA College Challenge. Jasmine Margetts, a junior for the Cougars, was selected to compete.
The Pac-12 Conference tallied 10 wins in the first day of competition. The conference currently leads Team USA 155-141, and are hoping to continue their success in the final day of competition.
"Jasmine swam great tonight. She led off a relay with a really good 100 back and later followed with a 200 back," head coach Tom Jager said. "She swam her specialty later and crushed it. She posted a great time and a great swim and she represented us well today. It was a great day for Cougar swimming!"
Margetts finished fifth in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.78, just seconds behind Team USA member Lucie Nordmann, and setting a season best mark. Margetts also competed in the 400 IM and 400 Medley Relay, taking sixth in both. She clocked in at 4:17.21 in the 400 IM.
