ABOUT THE MATCHUP
For the second-straight year the Cougs hit the road to take on Cal as the two teams meet for their lone matchups of the week...Cal enters the game sitting in fourth in the Pac-12 standings at 3-1-1 after picking up a pair of shutouts against Colorado (1-0) and Utah (2-0) last week...The Bears have taken the last two meetings between the two teams including a 1-0 win last season in Berkeley when a 77th minute PK decided the contest...The Bears are 5-1-1 at home this season and hold a 9-2-2 record against WSU in Berkeley.

Thursday evening the Cougs went to Eugene and came up with a 2-1 win over the Ducks to run their unbeaten streak to seven-consecutive contests...freshman Brianna Alger got the scoring started in the 20' while sophomore Morgan Weaver scored the game-winner in the 32'...Sunday, the Cougs dominated the day and the stat sheet against Oregon State but suffered a tough-luck loss as the Beavers scored the game-winner in the 102' to come away with a 1-0 (2OT) win.

The Bears enter the week as one of four Pac-12 teams to have notched double-digit wins in 2017...Cal has notched wins over a pair of ranked opponents including #24 Santa Clara and #14 Oklahoma State, with both games played in Berkeley...Santa Clara is the only common opponent for the Cougs and the Bears outside of Pac-12 play with WSu falling 2-1 on the road while Cal won 2-1 at home...Offensively, Cal has scored 19 goals led by Abigail Kim's six...Defensively, Cal has allowed just six goals with only two coming in Pac-12 play while posting seven shutouts.
