Washington State returns home to Gibb Pool for a match-up against No. 24 Arizona Oct. 14 at 10 a.m.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
This will be the fourth time the Cougars and Wildcats will be meeting in the regular season, the last meeting was Oct. 23, 2014 in Arizona when the Wildcats defeated WSU 182-98. This will be Arizona's first trip to Pullman since Oct. 17, 2013. The Wildcats hold a 3-0 advantage over the Cougars.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL
The Cougars are coming off of two big wins from their trip to California. The Cougars defeated Cal Poly 168.5-125.5, notching two relay wins and nine individual wins. Jasmine Margetts led the way for WSU with three individual wins, while Hannah Bruggman had two individual wins and was a member of both winning relay teams. The Cougars also took home a win against UC Santa Barbara with a score of 141-121. The team took eight individual wins and two relay wins from the meet. Margetts and Bruggman each recorded two individual wins, and Bruggman was a member of both relay wins.

FRESHMEN DEBUTING SWIMMMINGLY
The freshmen have made an outstanding impact in the pool, posting 16 individual Top-3 finishes in the first two meets of the season, including five wins. Emily Cook led the way for the freshmen, notching three individual first place finishes, including a spot on the WSU Top-10 times with a time of 55.90 in the 100 back. She was also a member of three first place relay teams. Pullman, Wash. native, Taylor McCoy has had a strong start for the Cougars, regitsering three third place finishes against Cal Poly: 100 back, 200 back, and 400 medley relay; and a first place finish against UC Santa Barbara in the 200 back.

MARGETTS SELECTED TO COMPETE IN USA COLLEGE CHALLENGE
Swimming stars from the Pac-12 Conference will compete against members of the USA Swimming National Team in the second edition of the USA College Challenge later this month. Jasmine Margetts, a junior for the Cougars, has been selected to compete. Margetts has had an impressive career for WSU. This season, she leads the Cougars with five individual wins, including a WSU Top-10 Time in the 1000 free. Margetts has led WSU in individual wins each year, posting 14 her rookie season and eight in her sophomore season.

INCOMING COUGARS
Seven incoming student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to the Washington State swimming team. The 2017 signing class is comprised of Taylor McCoy (Pullman, Wash.), Maia Petrides (Honolulu, Hawaii), Chloe Larson (Rapid City, SD), Alba Fores (Lund, Sweden), Sam Howell (Austin, Texas), Kelly Morgan (Edmonds, Wash.), Emily Cook (Portland, Ore.), and Mackenzie Duarte (Martinez, Calif.) Also joining the Cougars is junior transfer Clothilde Peseux (Besancon, France), coming from University of Idaho.
