CANBY, Ore. – The Washington State University men's golf team tied for 10th with Fresno State, Tuesday, at the Airstream Adventures Northwest Classic, at the Willamette Valley Country Club.

WSU (+28, 892) shot 12-over par in the final round to finish six strokes ahead of in-state rival Gonzaga (+34, 898) and 10 strokes ahead of Pac-12 competitor Utah (+38, 902). Tournament-champion UNLV (-22, 842) finished eight strokes ahead of second-place finisher, No. 28 Oregon (-14, 850). St. Mary's rounded out the top three at 866 (+2).

In his third top-25 performance of the season, freshman AJ Armstrong shot 1-over par in the second and third rounds to bring his total score to 218 (+2). Armstrong finished 12 strokes back of tournament-champion Sulman Raza of Oregon (-10, 206).

After shooting a third-round 77, sophomore Derek Bayley tied for 31st (+5, 221), three strokes back of Armstrong. Bayley and Armstrong were tied for 14th entering the third round.

Senior Bhurinat Songpaiboon, competing as an individual, moved seven spots up the leaderboard to tie for 42nd (+8, 224). Fellow senior Evan Omelia tied for 53rd (+11, 227).

Junior Nick Mandell tied for 69th (+14, 230), while sophomore Brian Mogg tied for 76th (+17, 233) in his first tournament appearance of the season.

The Cougars will next compete at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational presented by OGIO, April 4-5, at Chambers Bay Golf Course.
