Cougar Swimming Pac-12 Complete Student-Athlete

Pac-12 students are known for their athletic success, but they are also impressive, complete people with outside interests, diverse backgrounds, extracurricular activities, interesting families, busy schedules, and full lives. The release for this week's competition is focused on who Washington State students are in the classroom and community.
ACADEMIC SPOTLIGHT
Senior Presley Wetterstrom is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic First Team (2013-14, 14-15) selection, has been selected to the WSU President's Honor Roll (2012-15) and is a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-America honorable mention (2013-14, 14-15) selection.
Senior Loree Olson also has an internship with the Pullman YMCA, serving as a Palouse Resource Guide. Olson helps develop and maintain the website while also helping promote and organize special events.
Senior Frederikke Hall also has an internship involved around her sport science major, she works at local chiropractor, helping the patients prep for treatment.
Junior Anna Rosen is a mechanical engineer and wants to help design medical parts that help the inside of the human body. Rosen had an ICP Placement for her heart as a freshman in 2014 and wants to help spread the word on how to create, develop and support the research of developing parts for the human body.
COMMUNITY CORNER
Cougar Thanksgiving Dinner Food Drive
The Washington State swimming team annually puts together Thanksgiving dinners for local families through the Food Bank of Palouse. Each year, head coach Tom Jager and his wife, assistant coach Becky Jager donate a Turkey for each member of the team. There are 21 members on the team this season so the Jager's bought 21 turkeys and the team donated the remaining food items, put together recipes and ingredients to other thanksgiving dishes to complete a Thanksgiving dinner for each family.

FAMILY TIES
Cougar Family Connection
The Bruggman family has been a big part of Cougar swimming over the years. Sophomore Hannah Bruggman has been a big part of WSU's impressive season and she has a couple family members who also have worn the crimson and gray. Hannah's sister, Kelsey, swam at WSU (2009-13) and is currently the Cougars' Coordinator of Operations. Hannah and Kelsey's mom, Darcy also swam for WSU in the late 1980's, swimming the medley and backstroke.
Junior Addisynn Bursch has two brothers who also swim collegiately, Hudson swims the breastroke and medley at Purdue University and Barkley swims the backstroke at Arizona State.
Tom Jager's son, Wyatt is a freshman swimmer at The Ohio State University.
