Cougar Baseball Summer Update

A number of Cougars have produced solid summer seasons.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State pitchers Trenton Dupre and Parker McFadden were both named West Coast League All-Stars. Dupre and McFadden will represent the South Team in next Tuesday's All-Star game set for July 19 at 7:05 p.m. at David Story Field in Longview, Wash.
 
Dupre, playing for the Corvallis Knights, currently owns a 2-0 record with a 0.40 ERA in 22.1 innings and five appearances. The senior lefthander has struck out 17 hitters, walked just two and allowed just one earned run.
 
McFadden, playing for the Cowlitz Black Bears, owns a 1-1 record with one save in nine appearances. The sophomore right-hander has struck out 15 hitters in 15 innings this summer and allowed just one run over his last four appearances, spanning 8.1 innings.
 
Also playing for Cowlitz is sophomore right-hander Chandler Greenfield who owns a 3.73 ERA in six appearances including four starts. He has recorded 19 strikeouts in 21.1 innings.
 
Playing in the Alaska Baseball League for the Alaska Goldpanners in Fairbanks, sophomore Justin Harrer owns a .377 batting average with 12 RBI, one homer, eight doubles, a team-high 22 runs scored and is tied for the team lead with nine stolen bases in 20 games.
 
Playing in the Western Major Baseball League for the Ft. McMurray Giants in Canada, redshirt-junior outfielder Dugan Shirer paces the club with a .343 batting average and eight stolen bases. Shirer owns four doubles, two triples, two home runs, 10 RBI and has scored 18 runs in 25 games.
 
Playing in the Far West League for the Redding Colt 45's in Northern California, sophomore J.J. Hancock owns a .288 batting average with four doubles, two triples and one homer and 16 RBI. Hancock has stolen two bases and scored 16 runs in 18 games.
