PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State volleyball team is ranked No. 43 in this week's PrepVolleyball.com College Top 50 rankings.
This marks the first time the Cougars, 12-2 overall, 1-1 in Pac-12, have been ranked in the College Top 50 list. WSU tallied an 11-1 non-conference record and last week opened Pac-12 play by taking then-No. 6 Washington to five sets. WSU had its first conference win two nights later, a 3-0 win over Utah and the 11th straight-sets win of the season.
Other Pac-12 Conference members and their PrepVolleyball.com rankings for this week include: 4. USC, 5. Washington, 6. Arizona State, 10. Stanford, 12. Arizona, and 36. Oregon.
Washington State is one of only 15 programs in the nation to have at least two PrepVolleyball.com Top 25 and one Honorable Mention recruiting classes in the last three years (No. 14 in 2013, honorable mention in 2014, No. 21 in 2015).
PrepVolleyball.com's College Top 50 rankings are by Chris Tobolski, a member of the website's editorial staff who has 10 years of experience covering high school volleyball at the Orange County Register and covering Southern California prep, college and professional volleyball for DailyPrepTalk.com.
This weekend WSU plays at No. 2 USC Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. and at No. 11 UCLA Sunday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m.
