PEORIA, Ariz. – The Washington State University women's golf team concluded play at the Westbrook Spring Invitational, Monday, carding its lowest single-round score of the of the tournament. The Cougars shot 1-over par (289), bringing their three-round total to 892 (+28). Washington State finished in a three-way tie for 13th place with Nebraska and Tulsa at the Westbrook Village Golf Course.

Freshman Alivia Brown finished 1-under par (215) in the tournament to led Washington State. Finding herself 3-over par with 10 holes to play in the round, Brown carded three birdies to save par and finish the tournament tied for 10th place. The finish is Brown's second top-10 finish of her young career and marks her fourth-straight top-25 finish dating back to the fall season.

Senior Kristen Rue provided consist play for the Cougars, shooting 1-over (73) in the final round to finish 4-over (220) in the tournament. Rue carded 10 birdies in the two-day event and finished tied for 28th.

"I'm proud of the team for fighting back," WSU coach Kelli Kamimura said. "We got off to a slow start, and had a big deficit to overcome. Once we found our rythym, we played well. Alivia and Kristen had a solid week."

After a rough start to the tournament, junior Rachel Lewis found her form in the final round. Lewis carded two birdies on the front nine and shot even with par on 15 holes to finish 1-under (71) in the round. Lewis (+15, 231) finished tied for 72nd.

Freshman Bree Wanderscheid provided the final counting score of the day, shooting 1-over (73) to bring her three-round total to 229 (+13). Wanderscheid finished the tournament in 69th place. Senior Lindsay Harmon (+17, 233) finished the tournament in 78th place.

The Cougars return to action next week at the Bruin/Wave Invitational, March 2-3 in Tarzana, Calif.
