Final Homestand for Volleyball this Weekend

WSU VOLLEYBALL HOSTS BAY AREA SCHOOLS IN FINAL HOMESTAND
The Washington State University volleyball team (14-12 overall, 3-11 Pac-12) is home in Bohler Gym for the final homestand this season...WSU hosts California (9-16 overall, 3-11 Pac-12) Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. PT...Senior Day for lone Cougar senior, libero Kate Sommer (Pacific Palisades, Calif.), is Sunday, Nov. 15 when WSU hosts No. 6 Stanford (17-5 overall, 11-3* Pac-12 - pending 11/12 at No. 3 UW) in an 11 a.m. PT match...Friday match will be webcast live on the Pac-12.com, and the Sunday match will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks...LAST TIME: Fri., Oct. 23 WSU lost at No. 11 Stanford 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 19-25), and Oct. 25, WSU lost at California in a tight three set match (26-28, 19-25, 24-26).
COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Jen Stinson Greeny is in her fifth season as WSU's head coach (67-88 at WSU, 5 years; 179-112 in career, 9 years) - complete Greeny bio on page 5...assistant coaches Burdette Greeny (fifth year) and Shannon Hunt (third year)...all coaches are former WSU student-athletes...volunteer coach James Dorr (first year)...Katie Hinrichs is coordinator of operations (fifth year).

> McKenna Woodford named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week (Sept. 14-20)
> Cougars won three of the four non-conference tournaments in 2015 with MVP awards going to McKenna Woodford (Lone Star Showdown) and Kyra Holt (Cougar Challenge and Idaho Volleyball Classic).
SOMMER CLAIMS WSU CAREER DIGS RECORD AND KEEPS DIGGING
Kate Sommer became the WSU career digs record-holder Oct. 18, 2015, when she surpassed Kelly Hyder's 1,773 career digs, set from 2006-2009...Sommer is the lone senior on the Cougars 2015 squad...Sommer, from Pacific Palisades, Calif., also passed one of her coaches, WSU assistant Shannon Wyckoff Hunt, who tallied 1,254 digs from 1994-97 as an all-round position player due to the libero position coming into NCAA play in 1999...Sommer has accumulated 1,885 digs to date.
