Four Cougs Named to Pac-12 All-Academic Teams

SAN FRANCISCO -- Washington State sophomore Casey Schoenlein was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Women's Volleyball First Team, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced Wednesday. Three additional Cougars were selected to the honorable mention team.
Schoenlein, an outside hitter from Bellevue, Wash., was one of seven women named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. She has a 3.98 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in Journalism and Media Production.
Three Cougar juniors were named to the honorable mention team with Haley MacDonald and Tani Stephens earning the honors for the second time in their careers. MacDonald, a setter from Bothell, Wash., has a 3.18 GPA and is majoring in Human Development. Stephens, a defensive specialist from Albany, Ore., has a 3.50 GPA and is majoring in Sport Science. Hailey Bethune, an outside hitter from Stockton, Calif., has a 3.52 GPA and is majoring in general medical sciences.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
